EnglishI researched climate change for my project on contextualization. I did my research on the current wildfires in California and the hurricanes that hit recently. I also looked at the glacier that broke off of Greenland. My process consisted of research as well as analyzing a poem called Fire and Ice By: Robert Frost. For my product I wrote an essay but that sort of changed as my process went on. I added a voiceover for the essay as suggested by Mr. Ward. I wrote the essay and recorded me reading over it with pictures of these wildfires and hurricanes to give more context about the severity of climate change. I contextualized these recent climate disasters with the worsening climate crisis situation to prove that they were a result of climate change.

I was interested in climate change because a lot happened in recent news about it. From the wildfires, glaciers, and hurricanes happening it sparked my interest in why all this stuff was happening and even getting worse. I have always been environmentally conscious even as a little kid and with this project it allowed me to do some research on climate change. I learned more about how consumerism can harm our planet especially since most of these things require factories and cutting down trees. I also learned that these hurricanes and wildfires are Earth's way of trying to heal itself and reset the balance of nature.

Self in the Modern WorldI researched consumerism and carbon footprints for the self in the modern world part of my climate change project. I wanted to research consumerism and its effect on the environment. My process consisted of getting research about what everyday things produce carbon and how much it effects the environment. I contextualized how consumerism and the need to buy stuff changed and increased over the years making a huge impact on the worsening climate change. I documented my own carbon footprint on two carbon footprint calculators. For my product, I choose a guidebook between that and a newsletter. My guidebook helped other people find ways to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
