English
I looked at Michael and I's perspectives on the LGBT Community for the English portion of project 2 in Apollo. We were at first going to do our perspectives for Self in the Modern World but then switched it to English because the project worked out better this way. Our process didn't consist of much research since we wrote the essay based on our personal experiences. The research we did was more on modern day stances of people's perspectives on the LGBT Community and the issues they face today. We started the reflective essay off with a bulleted outline as part of the project process. Michael I wrote our reflective essays about how our perspectives of the LGBTQ+ Community changed over the course of 8th grade to now. The essay showed both our perspectives and how we grew over the course of those 5 years of our lives to have a much more positive outlook on the LGBTQ Community and even the world.

I was interested in the LGBTQ Community since I have been m0re interested in politics and what is going on in the world. I have some friends who are part of it and I wanted to look at how people viewed the people in the LGBTQ Community. I also was interested to see how I changed over time and how my view on the community changed. I learned just how much my political view and view of the LGBTQ community changed over the years and how much more accepting I became. I also learned that many religions such as stricter christians, catholics, and Islam are less accepting of the LGBTQ community

Self in the Modern WorldI researched people's perspectives on the LGBT Community in CYHS and throughout history in the United States for Self in the Modern World for project 2 in Apollo. Our process consisted of research on various perspectives from religions and other countries. We also looked at the growth of history of LGBT rights throughout the history of the United States. We were going to do the personal essays for Self in the Modern World but both our research and products worked better for English. During the process, we switched what we were doing for Self in the Modern World and English. We also made a survey for CYHS students about their perspectives of the LGBT Community. We got 24 responses on our survey. For our final product, we made a podcast where Michael and I talk about our survey results, how we would answer the questions in our survey, and we read our personal essays. Our podcast was very long and overall informational. Some criticism we got was we should have used more of our research in our podcast to back up our views and help validate them. Our podcast was overall constructive and really helped us convey how we evolved and grew as people over the years.
